At Hillside Vets we have tried to provide you with helpful, informative guidance sheets on everything to do with other small animals like guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters etc.

These like all other animals can’t tell us when something is wrong, so we hope these sheets will help you if you are uncertain about something. There are many different breeds and types of each with their own peculiarities; we are here to help and advise you.

Animals such as chinchillas, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, and rats are currently popular domestic pets and if you decide to have one of these you should think carefully before going ahead.  A pet needs lots of love and care, including regular veterinary treatment such as vaccinations, dental care and regular all over health checks.

Remember too, that some pets enjoy human contact more than others, so you will need to choose your pet carefully.
