Healthy hopper clinic

Healthy hopper clinic

Rabbits are the third most popular small pet after dogs and cats!

A few members of the team at Hillside have rabbits themselves and Chris and Gemma (RVN) in particular, have an interest in bunnies.

Our nurses run FREE healthy hopper clinics where best advice on health, nutrition, teeth and housing is given. Along with dogs and cats, vaccinating your rabbit is a must.

Whilst we recommend that all rabbits have an annual vaccination against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic disease, in which they will receive a full health check, unlike dogs and cats they usually don't need to come in for additional treatments such as flea and worm control.

This means that a whole year could pass between visits - which is a long time in the life of a bunny.  This is why we offer our Healthy Hopper Clinics!

Healthy Hopper Clinic

Our healthy hopper clinics are FREE appointments six months after the vaccination.  At this time, one of our qualified nurses (known as a RVN) will carry out a health check, helping to ensure that any changes in your rabbit's health are picked up quickly and early.

This is also an ideal time to discuss any aspects of your rabbit's care which you would like advice on.  We can discuss your rabbit's diet, weight, general health, check their teeth and bottom area.

If you would like to make an appointment for a free healthy hopper clinic with one of our VN's then contact us here here.
