We offer a range of free pet clinics at Hillside and these include:
- Puppy parties – it has to be said, one of the best parts of our job! The ideal way to socialise your puppy with other young pups (and people), whilst learning about and discussing health care, lifestyle diets and other top tips on training. The memory of this positive experience lasts and helps dogs as they mature, not only with other dogs and people, but also with us! Dogs that have been to our puppy parties will quite often be seen dragging their owners through our doors to see us!
- Weight watchers – it's estimated that up to 50% of dogs and cats in the UK are overweight and this can have a dramatic effect on their health. We give all round advice for lifetime diets, ie from puppy/kitten to adult dog/cat as well as professional dietary advice should your pet have piled on a few too many pounds. We’re good at giving that much needed on-going moral support too!
- Healthy hopper clinic – rabbits are the third most popular small pet after dogs and cats. A a few members of our team have rabbits themselves and Chris and Gemma in particular have an interest in bunnies. Our nurses run free healthy hopper clinics where best advice on health, nutrition, teeth and housing is given. Along with dogs and cats, vaccinating your rabbit is a must.
- Old friends – as your pet progresses through life, sometimes it’s difficult to know what to put down to old age and what could be something a little more serious. With our free old friends’ clinics our nurses will give your pet an all over health check, including their teeth, blood pressure monitoring and urine testing. This way it's easier to detect something earlier on – we firmly believe that prevention is better than cure.
Our nurses are always more than happy to see you and your pet if at any time you would like general advice on ensuring a healthy lifestyle as well as sharing lots of top tips with you.
