Our facilities
At Hillside Vets we have excellent, modern facilities with separate waiting areas and kennels for dogs and cats/small animals to ensure as little stress and discomfort as possible to both you and your pet.
Our consulting rooms are large, clean and uncluttered giving us the opportunity to make your pet as comfortable as possible whilst being examined, particularly when they are feeling unwell. The Hillside team are all animal lovers and we treat your pets as if they are our own, building long lasting, strong relationships in the process.
We offer:
Clean and modern separated waiting areas
We have separate waiting areas for dogs and cats/rabbits which help alleviate any distress, particularly for cats and rabbits when they are waiting in their travel cages. This can make a big difference to your pet’s anxiety levels when they might be feeling a little out of sorts already.
Separate kennel facilities
Separated kennel wards for dogs and cats/rabbits ensures our in-patients are kept calm and stress free. The kennels can be shut off and kept nice and quiet and sometimes we find they like to listen to the radio!
On site laboratory for blood testing
Blood samples can be a vital part of an investigation and where appropriate we can take a sample whilst you wait. Our on- site laboratory allows us to get some results quickly; usually within 15 minutes. Other more complicated tests may involve sending bloods away, in which case we normally receive these results back the next day.
Digital X-ray
If an X-ray is necessary, this usually requires a sedative or light anaesthetic to keep your pet safe and still. This will mean leaving them in our care for a few hours. We have the most modern digital X-ray facility giving us very detailed images. The clarity of these images helps us in our diagnosis as well as being able to visually explain the problem to you the owner and discuss the treatment plan.
Specific dental Digital X-ray
Dental issues are a common problem and often over-looked as your pets are unfortunately unable to let you know that they are in pain. With our dental digital X-ray machine we are able to offer top quality dental imagery to assist us in diagnosing the exact problem.
Ultrasound
Allowing us to examine organs such as the heart and liver internally or diagnose pregnancy in a non-invasive way. It would normally require us to sedate your pet for most ultrasound examinations.
Endoscopy
Having endoscopy facilities on site, eliminates the necessity for us to have to send your pet elsewhere for further investigations. With endoscopy, a flexible fibre-optic camera is inserted via your pet’s mouth/throat to give a clear precise image of the stomach or airways.
State of the art operating theatre
A clean uncluttered designated operating theatre allows us to carry out a wide range of surgical procedures. These range from routine neutering to complicated orthopaedic repairs under the care of our experienced and professional vets.
Client off road-parking
A good sized car park provides ample free parking for our clients.
Disabled access/toilet facilities
We have full disabled access to the surgery with plenty of room for manoeuvring of wheelchairs if necessary. Our client toilet is also wheelchair friendly.
