Welcome to our new team members!

We've welcomed a few new members to the Hillside family over the last couple of months.
Our new senior vet Chris joined us in November.
Chris qualified from the University of Bristol in 2007. After a few years of mixed practice in the Midlands & Cornwall working with animals of all sizes, he moved to Dorset in 2011 to focus on small animals. His main interest is ophthalmology (eyes), and he is an Advanced Practitioner & certificate holder in the subject. He also enjoys surgery & ultrasound scanning. Outside of work, when time allows, Chris enjoys mountain biking in the Wareham Forest & Purbeck areas, playing guitar, and fixing things around the house!
In December we welcomed Holly to the team as our Animal Care Assistant.
Holly can be found in the kennels helping to look after in-patients or on reception welcoming clients.
Holly previously worked in food services before joining the team at Hillside and outside of work enjoys baking and decorating cakes, even joining in the sourdough phase in lockdown. Holly lives with her parents and sister as well as their pets- 2 guinea pigs, turtle and 2 westies who rule the house!
Last but not least, we welcomed Amanda to our reception team in January! After a long career as a Critical Care & Palliative Care Nurse in the NHS, Amanda had taken early retirement but knew it was too soon to be fully retired. She wanted to do something different and was thrilled to be able to join our team. She has a love of animals, particularly dogs and thoroughly enjoys meeting all the lovely clients. Her own dog is a Wirehaired Dachshund called Winnie, who Amanda says she is an absolute Pixie but they love her dearly!
