Safe, enclosed dog walking space
Dogs love nothing more than a free run off the lead but sadly this isn’t always possible for various reasons.
Some dogs can be reactive to dogs or people and so for safety need to stay on, some just love to wander or run off and some just haven’t grasped that perfect recall yet. For Gina Hayter of Hayter's FIELD it was the fact that her dog loved to run off and hunt that caused her a headache on walk.
It was through this frustration that the idea for Hayter’s field was born, although took many years to come to fruition. Gina wished she could have had a safe, enclosed space for her dog to run without the worry of getting lost or running away and she knew she wouldn’t be alone. Her vision has now come to life and the fantastic Hayter’s field is the perfect place for dogs to run free and owners don’t have to worry that they’ll get into trouble or run away!
With six-foot fencing all around the perimeter, that has been tested by the most athletic of dogs, Hayter’s is a secure space in the Holt countryside. The field can be privately hired 7 days a week by the hour or half hour so owners can have peace of mind that they will have this beautiful space all to themselves or with members of their party. Gina also encourages people to bring along a picnic, sit on the benches or hay bales and relax while dogs play safely. There’s plenty of shade on warmer days, fresh running water and even paddling pools for four legged friends to enjoy!
Since opening in July 2020, Hayter’s has proved extremely popular, with some people booking multiple slots per week to give their dog a freedom they may not always have. Gina tells of one lady who visited who was overjoyed to be able to allow her dog off the lead, something they’d not been able to do for years. Dog walkers and trainers also hire the field as well as families and friends for a stress free catch up and walk.
As you can see from the photographs, Millie, who belongs to our practice director Kirsty, and Hudson, our PR manager Steph’s dog, were more than happy to go and test out Hayter’s for themselves! They gave it a 10 paws out of 10 rating! Millie especially loved the paddling pools!
This is just the beginning for Hayter’s field. Gina hopes to add some dog agility equipment in the coming months and welcome more visitors to this gorgeous open, safe, space.
If you visit on a Friday – Sunday morning you’ll find the fabulous Wimborne Coffee Roasters next to the field open for refreshments. They do offers for those who use Hayter’s field and are extremely dog friendly (poached egg on dog biscuits anyone?).
At Hillside, we love to support local businesses and know that many of our clients would benefit from what Hayter’s field has to offer.
