Do you have any questions?
We are delighted to answer your questions and help you better understand how we can help to keep your pet healthy. Modern veterinary medicine is every bit as complex as human medicine so don't hesitate to ask.

Services and facilities

Operations and Anaesthetics
We understand that surgery and anaesthesia on your pet can be a worrying thought.
To minimise anaesthetic risk and give you the owner peace of mind we offer the
following services:

  • A full pre-operative clinical examination

  • Pre-anaesthetic blood testing to help pick up any potential problems

  • The very latest and safest anaesthetic drugs

  • A fully trained team of nurses monitoring all anaesthetics, aided by
state of the art vital signs monitors

Clinics

Hillside offers the following clinics:
  • Puppy parties - to socialise your new puppy and discuss puppy care and training

  • Weight watchers - over half of all dogs and cats in the UK are overweight. We can help your pets slim down with professional dietary advice and weight reduction programs, as well as giving you the owner moral support

  • Old friends clinic - free of charge for older pets, including full blood pressure measurements and urine testing, together with a full nurse's clinical examination

  • Nurse's clinics - our nurses are available to give advice on any aspect of your pets' health from dental care and flea control to diet

  • PETS Passport (Travel Scheme) - with more and more pets travelling abroad with their owners it is vital to be up-to-date on current requirements and tropical disease prevention

Acupuncture
We are delighted to offer acupuncture at the surgery - Keith Moore our assistant vet has a special interest in acupuncture which can be a useful complement to more conventional medical treatments. We also accept referrals from other local vets for this service.

Home visits
We are happy to attend your pet at home by prior arrangement should the need arise. Where possible more complete care is usually possible at the surgery where all our facilities are on hand, but discuss the options with a member of the team.

The last Service
As animal lovers and owners we know that losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. A decision sometimes has to be made to end a pet's life to prevent suffering and we are here to listen and offer our professional advice and counselling at this very difficult time. We are also happy to assist with the arrangement of cremation or burial services to best suit your wishes.
